Why I Started Collecting Watches
From a casual glance at a watch display to a full-blown passion — how a single Seiko sparked an obsession.
The Beginning
It started, as most collections do, completely by accident. I was walking past a watch shop and something caught my eye — a sunburst blue dial that seemed to shift color with every angle. That was the Seiko Presage Cocktail Time, and it changed everything.
Down the Rabbit Hole
Within weeks, I found myself watching hours of YouTube content about watch movements, finishing techniques, and the history of horology. Names like Breguet, Patek Philippe, and A. Lange & Söhne became part of my vocabulary.
The more I learned, the more I appreciated the engineering and artistry that goes into these tiny machines on our wrists. Each watch tells a story — not just of time, but of the people who designed and built it.
What Watches Mean to Me
For me, collecting isn't about accumulating objects. It's about the stories, the craftsmanship, and the connection to a tradition that spans centuries. Every watch in my collection represents a moment, a milestone, or a memory.
This blog is my way of documenting that journey — the watches I've loved, the ones I've let go, and the inspirations that keep me exploring the world of horology.
